DESIRE LINES

Have you ever though about these paths as refusals and critiques

to established designs?

These type of experiments are focused on highlighting and formalising the pathways that people follow instead of the ones specified by the design.
People who use the built environments created by the professionals are usually desperate to modify and personalise their surroundings. The most obvious manifestation of this is the imprinting of ‘desire lines’ along circulation routes not predetermined by the urban designers.
