SIGNS & SYMBOLS

Which signs & symbols

would you take out of context to bring people

into public spaces?

With this type of interventions #PublicTape explores the way people interpret familiar signs & symbols in other context like public spaces. Normally people have strong images of arrows from signage or wayfinding, red carpets from theatres or important events, meeting point signs from parking lots, but what happens when these are placed in public spaces as metaphors trying to share different messages.
An object seen for the first time may be identified and related not because it is individually familiar but because it conforms to a stereotype already constructed by the observer.
